Charlotte Mae Garvey, age 86, of Grand Rapids, MN died peacefully at the Grand Itasca Hospital on June 4, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.

Char was born in 1926 in St. Charles, MN to Marian and Leo Fix. She was united in marriage to Larry Garvey and they were married 64 years. Char was a wonderful wife, mother and caregiver to her family. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and playing bridge. She and Larry loved to fish and travel the U. S. in their RV.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry; daughter, Kathy; and brothers, Lee and Lyman.

She is survived by her sons, Pat (Barb) Garvey and Tim (Ann) Garvey; her daughter, Jan (Mark) Paschke; a brother, Rich (Faye) Fix; and her close friends, Cleme and Blanche.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Memorial Mass on Friday, June 8, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grand Rapids. Rev. Fr. Jerry Weiss will officiate. Burial will be at Itasca-Calvary Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Midwest Chapter, 200 12th Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55415.
