Alan Kolm, age 62, of Effie, MN, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on August 14, 2012 at his home.

He was born in Bigfork, MN to Maxine and Karl Kolm on October 15, 1949. He is remembered as a unique philosopher, a hard worker, a steward of the land, loving brother, father, and grandfather. Alan was always a very compassionate man who lived by the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, “It is one of the most beautiful compensations of this life that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself.”

Alan is survived by his brother, Dennis (Barb) Kolm along with his five children, Dennis, Aerie (J.D), Anna, Gabriel (LaTanya), Amber (Jeff), and his grandchildren, Jasmine, Varik, Arabella, and Isaak.

A memorial will be conducted at a date to be determined.
